Chen Biao was a researcher at the Purple Mountain Observatory. He was in charge of the development of astronomical observation equipment and the astronomical data processing and analysis. He was also responsible for the research and development of optical systems. He also served as a professor at the Nanchang University in China. He was a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was also a professor of astronomy at the Nanjing University.
